Most restoration companies get work from some mix of plumbers, insurance agents, property managers, Google Ads, Local Services Ads, lead networks and search. Here’s how each one works, what it really costs you, and where we fit.
Advertisers pay about $42 a click for "water damage restoration near me" and "emergency water removal" (Semrush, US, October 2026). That's before the click turns into a call, and before the call turns into a job you can bill.
Local Services Ads charge per lead rather than per click, and placement leans on your reviews, your responsiveness and your hours. "Google guaranteed" alone carries an average cost per click of $161.71, which tells you how much money is chasing that panel.
We don't manage ad accounts. We give every channel its own tracking number so the report shows ad calls next to organic calls, and you can see cost per job by source. More: Local Services Ads: cost and when it pays.
Referral partners send some of the best restoration jobs, because the homeowner already trusts whoever sent them. But referrals don't scale on their own, and they disappear when your contact changes jobs.
The pages we build back up those relationships: a page for plumbers, one for insurance agents, one for property managers, each explaining how you work with them. More on that in getting referrals from insurance agents and plumbers.
The last column is the one most owners never ask about.
| Channel | How you pay | Who else gets the homeowner | What's left when you stop paying |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lead networks | Per lead, or per call | Often other restoration companies | Nothing |
| Google Ads | Per click. About $42 for the main water searches | Every company in the auction | Nothing |
| Local Services Ads | Per lead, through Google | The other companies in the panel | Your reviews on the LSA profile |
| Plumber, agent and property manager referrals | Time and relationships | Depends who else they refer | The relationships |
| Social media | Time, or ad spend | Your followers, mostly past customers | The audience |
| SEO, your website and your Google Business Profile | Monthly plan, website included | Whoever else ranks, but the homeowner chose to call you | The pages, reviews, links and rankings you built |

We help you post real job photos to your Google Business Profile. We don’t run social media accounts; it rarely brings in a homeowner with water on the floor today. See what actually produces calls.
Maybe you shouldn’t, yet. Keep it while your own channel builds and compare cost per billed job in the report.
