Where water damage jobs come from when you’re not paying per lead, and how to build each source.
“How to get water damage leads” gets about 140 searches a month in the US, and “how to get restoration leads” about 70 (Semrush, October 2026). Most results sell leads. Here’s how to get them without paying per lead.
“Water damage restoration near me” gets about 165,000 searches a month in the US, and advertisers pay about $42 a click for it (Semrush, October 2026). The map pack sits above the regular results. Getting into it in your core towns is the single biggest source of your own calls.
The map pack favors businesses close to the searcher. For towns farther out, town pages on your site can rank in the regular results underneath. One page per town you’ll actually drive to, written about that town.
These are referral sources that cost nothing per job. See getting referrals from insurance agents and plumbers.
Water damage repeats: the same house floods again, or the neighbor’s does. Leave a magnet on the water heater, send a seasonal reminder about frozen pipes, and ask for reviews.
Give each source its own tracking number. Then compare cost per billed job against the leads you buy now. Don’t cancel the lead source until your own channel is cheaper per job. Most owners find it gets there, but the numbers should tell you, not us.
Your own channel isn’t free. It costs time or a monthly plan. The difference is what’s left when you stop paying: the pages, the reviews and the rankings stay.
We do the profile, pages, reviews and tracking, for one restoration company per city.
